Based on an agreement signed between the Municipality of Concordia and the Departmental Directorate of Schools, the Directorate of Social Strengthening Policies has been conducting talks at the primary and secondary levels in Concordia, within the framework of the “Municipal Program for Integral Health and Healthy Bonds: An intersectoral prevention device in the educational field”.
The objective is to implement prevention workshops aimed at students, complementarily training the teaching staff in technical tools for early detection and institutional support, and in this way guarantee a comprehensive approach to issues such as mental health, the strengthening of socio-emotional skills, the prevention of school bullying, and problematic consumption in educational communities, among others.
This week the activity took place at Secondary School No. 7 “Gdor. Gral. Ricardo Ramón López Jordán”, where fourth and fifth-year students participated in a workshop on problematic consumption, with the aim of promoting reflection on these situations, strengthening prevention, and providing tools for the construction of life projects.
In the second module, first and sixth-year students addressed the topic of healthy bonds, emphasizing the prevention of violence and bullying.
In this regard, Siomara Faure, a psychologist from the Directorate of Social Strengthening Policies, explained that “today we worked with the students on problematic consumption, life projects, and how we can create a network between students, teachers, and us from the municipality. We also worked with the first and sixth-year students, who are the two extremes of secondary school, where we worked on healthy bonds, and what tools we have to put an end to violence and bullying”.
For her part, Miriam Romero, pedagogical advisor of the institution, highlighted the importance of the initiative and pointed out that various problematic situations have arisen in the school, which is why she considered these spaces fundamental to address the topics and raise awareness in the educational community.
The Municipal Program for Integral Health and Healthy Bonds is aimed at educational establishments, both public and public-private, of Primary Level (2nd Cycle) and Secondary Level (Basic Cycle and Oriented Cycle). The call also reaches civil society institutions and public entities that require group preventive approaches.
