The Mayor of Concordia Francisco Azcué and the renowned actor agreed on the importance of undertaking actions focused on addiction prevention, but speaking directly to young people, with real, strong stories, with current data and without hiding anything.
The talk, organized by the Undersecretariat of Education and Culture of the Municipality of Concordia, which was attended by a large number of young people from local educational institutions, was held at the Club Estudiantes facilities.
Minutes before “Hablemos”, Azcué explained that these types of actions are “a great tool, which is why we are very grateful to have Gastón, since one of the aspects we have to work on, and one of the most important, is prevention”.
The Mayor pointed out that “often one associates this fight with the actions of the punitive power, which is an important part, but one must also address prevention, putting the issue on the table, starting to talk about this global problem and starting to bring in people who have the ability to convey the message so that it is received by our young people”.
Pauls, in turn, thanked them for the invitation and celebrated his return to the city. “With my testimony, all I am doing is sharing my experience so that hopefully no one has to suffer it,” he remarked.
“Concordia is one of the places that is repeating this, something that speaks of a great commitment” in the face of the advance of the scourge at a global level, which recently added online betting and gambling addiction in that age group.
“Unfortunately, consumption gets press and prevention does not. With these types of actions, we want to give more visibility to prevention, to information, to real communication so that people can then be free,” highlighted Pauls.
“We deeply believe in the transformative power of the word. This talk is a concrete tool to open necessary conversations in schools and in every space where there is a young person who needs to be heard,” expressed Prof. Carlos Gatto.
“From the Undersecretariat of Education and Culture, we will continue to generate these spaces, because we know that talking saves and listening accompanies. And that collective and sustained construction is what we seek to promote in Concordia,” he concluded.
“Hablemos” was supported by the Honorable Chamber of Senators, the Honorable Chamber of Deputies of the Province of Entre Ríos; the Argentine Delegation to the Mixed Technical Commission of Salto Grande and the Departmental Directorate of Schools of Concordia.
During the talk, provincial deputy Carola Laner, the Secretary of Human Development Sebastián Arístide, the Undersecretary of Sports Ivana Pérez, the Departmental Director of Schools Julio Barrios, councilors, among other authorities, were present.
