Within the framework of the Community Gardens Project, a call was made to residents, who actively participated in a training session for the construction of agroecological gardens in the city.
The meeting took place at the Community Territorial Device (DTC) in the Los Pájaros neighborhood and was attended by the Secretary of Productive Development, Eng. Federico Schattenhofer, the Director of Citizen Participation, José Vedoya, Eng. Gabriel Zubizarreta, a member of the technical team of the Undersecretariat of Development and Entrepreneurship; council members Guillermo Satalia Méndez and Carolina Amiano, and the DTC coordinator, Mónica Villarreal.
During the meeting, various tools and seeds were distributed, which are essential for residents to start their own community gardens and apply the knowledge acquired during the training.
Schattenhofer highlighted the importance of these initiatives, stating: “Joint work between the Municipality and the residents is key to promoting sustainable production and creating spaces that strengthen social integration. Training residents in agroecological practices allows not only for the improvement of family nutrition, but also for the promotion of local development.”
For his part, Vedoya expressed: “This project demonstrates that when working together between the State and the community, great progress is achieved. We want these gardens to become a meeting point for residents to share knowledge and strengthen the social fabric.”
The Community Gardens Project is promoted by the Municipality of Concordia together with the National Secretariat for Comprehensive Drug Policies of the Argentine Nation (SEDRONAR) and aims to train residents in agroecological cultivation and production, providing tools for self-sufficiency and the generation of solidarity-based work networks.
