This Sunday, May 25, as part of the commemoration of the May Revolution, the Department of Policies for the Elderly of the Municipality of Concordia will carry out a special event: the Alternative Games for Older Adults.
The activity will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the grounds adjacent to Costa Ciencia, on the Costanera of Concordia. It will be a recreational proposal designed to promote participation, physical activity, social gathering, and enjoyment among the older adults of our city.
Residents from the Stella Maris Retirees Center (Nebel neighborhood) and the La Bianca Retirees and Pensioners Center will participate, under the coordination of the national Physical Education teacher Miguel Pérez Saipe, who will be in charge of the activities.
During the event, recreational games, movement activities, a shared snack, and raffles will take place. It will be a space to celebrate the active participation of older adults, recognize their role in community life, and create an environment of well-being and connection.
From the organization, the head of the Department of Policies for the Elderly, Gladys Portugal, stated: “We firmly believe in active aging, with proposals that strengthen autonomy, enjoyment, and community ties. This activity is a way to thank, accompany, and recognize the life journey of each of our older adults.”
Open invitation: The various Retirees Centers of Concordia and the general public are invited to participate in this event, designed from an integrative, inclusive perspective committed to the well-being of those who are part of this age group.
Organized by: Department of Policies for the Elderly, Municipality of Concordia
Information: Civic Center – 1st floor (Mitre and Pellegrini), Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 13:00.
