Due to the heavy rainfall recorded over the last few hours in the city, the Municipality of Concordia, in a joint effort between different areas, has launched an operation to assist the residents who have been affected.
As of the early hours of this Saturday, 15 families have been surveyed who required assistance.
The issues arose mainly due to the obstruction of the drainage systems because different items are thrown into them, mainly waste and also as a result of irregular construction.
"These situations occur because, given the significant amount of rainfall, the drains cannot fulfill their function as they become clogged by the amount of things thrown into them. That is why we insist so much to the residents not to carry out these types of practices because they themselves are harmed on days like today," stated the municipal authorities.
Personnel from different areas of the municipality are working to alleviate the situation in different neighborhoods of the city with machinery to unclog drains that allow for the clearing of obstructions and the opening of ditches to improve water drainage.
