With the objective of expanding knowledge on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, the Municipality of Concordia, through the Health Secretariat, provided training to members of the Armed Forces and Security Forces.
The activity was led by the Secretary of Health, Dr. Diego Sauré, and included the participation of members of the Argentine Army, the Entre Ríos Police, the Naval Prefecture, the Sapper Firefighters, and the Municipal Forest Brigade, as well as personnel from the aforementioned area.
In this regard, Sauré indicated that the initiative to train people on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) arises from the political decision of the current administration, led by mayor Francisco Azcué. “The population needs to know that it is a basic course, which can be learned in two or three hours at most, both the theoretical and practical parts. It is a course that saves lives.”
Regarding the procedure that the community should follow in these critical moments, Sauré stressed that “the idea is to save time by performing CPR until the automated defibrillator arrives. As part of the administration, we have added for the first time a defibrillator simulator plus CPR torsos. We have 20 automated defibrillators to be placed in the Health Centers,” he added.
Along these lines, he reported that the leading cause of death in the world is cardiac arrest, which is why “we need to know how to perform CPR techniques,” and therefore urged the general community to get trained, recalling that in 2024 “we held a course for the Motorized Police and a month later, a cardiac event occurred where the personnel acted in a great manner.”
