This Tuesday morning, the Municipality of Concordia, through the Secretariat of Human Development, launched the activities of the Child Development Centers (CDI), spaces dedicated to early childhood that provide comprehensive care to children from different neighborhoods of the city.
On this occasion, the launch took place at the “Nidito de Sueños” CDI, located in the Carretera de la Cruz neighborhood.
The centers aim to promote the healthy growth and development of the little ones through a comprehensive approach that includes education, health, nutrition, and recreation. The CDIs will have interdisciplinary teams made up of professionals, thus guaranteeing adequate support for each child and their family.
In this regard, the Secretary of Human Development Sebastián Arístide reported that during the work carried out through the “Relevar” Project, “nearly 650 children from zero to three years old who were not attending the CDIs were detected. For us, it is a battle won and conquered. It is a priority that these children in vulnerable contexts are cared for and sheltered.”
Along these lines, Arístide maintained that “what we want is to have a healthy child prepared for the challenges to come. We accompany families in general and mothers in particular in their maternity process, in the bond with their children, aiming at the strengthening of each home, which is where children begin to develop; that is why it is comprehensive work where different issues are addressed.”
The start of the activities was attended by the Undersecretary of Social Development Roberto Niez and the Director of Childhood, Adolescence and Family Adriana Medina.
