The Municipality of Concordia informs that the Secretariat of Human Development has decided to move forward with the unification of the Undersecretariat of Education with that of Culture, understanding that they are fundamental pillars for the integral development of the community. For this reason, their unification represents a strategic decision that will strengthen the impact of public policies in the city.
“From the municipality, we understand that the integration of education and culture is a necessary step to advance towards a model of sustainable human development. We are committed to a vision that transcends the mere administration of programs and generates a real impact on people's lives,” stated Sebastián Arístide, Secretary of Human Development, under whom the new Undersecretariat will report.
Meanwhile, Professor Carlos Gatto, current Undersecretary of Education, will be in charge of the brand-new Undersecretariat. He will do so on a temporary basis until the restructuring of the organizational chart is advanced through an ordinance.
For his part, Mayor Francisco Azcué pointed out that “culture is not only an artistic or heritage expression, but a powerful tool for human transformation. Through culture, we build identity, reinforce common values, and develop essential skills for democratic coexistence. Integrating both areas will allow us to design more effective public policies that enhance access to knowledge, promote creativity, and strengthen social inclusion.”
Likewise, Azcué thanked Jorge “Wally” García for his contribution to the administration. “We are very grateful for the service provided by Wally; as we always say, our commitment is to the residents and we will do everything to continue improving. This is not about names, but about carrying out the best public policies to continue advancing in a process of change and progress for Concordia.
RATIONALE
In a strategic step towards the strengthening of society and the enrichment of proposals with an impact on community life, two essential areas for local development are being merged: Culture and Education. Starting this year, both areas, which have historically been deeply interconnected, will be unified in the administration and organization of projects, promoting an integration of their actions and goals.
This “integration” will allow for a more effective articulation of activities and a deeper and more complex view of social reality, generating a systemic and integral action program. With this specific linkage, the convergence of efforts is favored, optimizing resources and creating a broader and more solid impact proposal, seeking integration based on the deepening of the outlined objectives, to the detriment of task segmentation. The municipality is committed to a holistic approach, where culture and education mutually enhance each other, benefiting the entire community.
With this new definition, the Municipality reaffirms its commitment to continue promoting social well-being, cultural and educational inclusion, and uninterrupted community development with the active participation of all citizens.
