This Friday, with the presence of Mayor Francisco Azcué and following the renewal of an agreement with the Universidad Autónoma de Entre Ríos, the “Home Caregivers for the Elderly Course” began.
The six-month, blended-learning course is aimed at individuals over 18 years of age with a completed secondary education degree and is carried out through the Faculty of Life and Health Sciences (FCVyS).
In-person classes require mandatory attendance, while virtual meetings will include both synchronous and asynchronous sessions. To pass, students must complete evaluative practical assignments and maintain a minimum attendance of 80%.
Secretary of Human Development Sebastián Arístide and Undersecretary of Education Carlos Gatto were present. The start of the course was led by Nursing Graduate Emiliano Blanco and has around 70 registered students.
Mayor Azcué celebrated the meeting, stating that it is a good decision to dedicate time to study as it “will allow them to grow, train, and achieve professionalization,” ratifying the administration's commitment to continue promoting these spaces.
“We are convinced that this is the way,” hence the renewal of the agreement with the UADER following the successful experience carried out during 2024. “It is a prestigious institution that enables these opportunities so that the residents of Concordia can study,” highlighted Azcué.
Arístide, for his part, expressed his satisfaction that this course is being offered again since “we are talking about home caregivers who are in demand in society, both in the public and private sectors, therefore it is a good opportunity that they are taking advantage of today.”
Finally, Gatto recalled that “this is a proposal we launched last year, which had a large number of students and filled us with satisfaction since a large part of them were able to enter the labor market, which is the final objective of this training.”
