The measure includes a 100% exemption from the General Real Estate municipal tax and the Commercial municipal tax corresponding to the July and August 2026 period for businesses that have suffered material damage as a result of the storm. Interested parties must submit a sworn statement to access the benefit.
Within the framework of the actions being carried out to support residents and the productive sector following the severe storm that affected Concordia during the early hours of last July 19, the Municipal Executive Department established, through a decree, an exceptional regime of tax benefits aimed at commercial establishments that recorded material damage as a result of the meteorological phenomenon.
The measure establishes a one hundred percent (100%) exemption from the General Real Estate municipal tax corresponding to the July and August 2026 period for affected properties and, in addition, a one hundred percent (100%) exemption from the Commercial municipal tax for the same period for those businesses whose activity has been harmed by the damage caused by the storm.
The mayor Francisco Azcué highlighted that the decision seeks to provide a concrete response to those who suffered significant material losses and must face the challenge of recovering.
The Municipal President also remarked that strengthening the private sector is fundamental for the city's recovery as a generator of employment: "Each business that manages to reopen its doors means work, economic movement, and opportunities for Concordia. That is why we want to alleviate, within our possibilities, in a context of strong budgetary restriction, the tax burden of those who are currently allocating their resources to rebuild what the storm damaged."
To access the benefit, taxpayers must submit a sworn statement requesting the exemption, which will be subject to technical verification of the damage by the competent municipal areas. Subsequently, the General Directorate of Revenue will evaluate each case and grant the benefit in accordance with the procedure that it will establish as the enforcement authority.
