With a significant logistical setup, which included three backhoes, two crews, extensive earthmoving, and overtime work, personnel from the Decentralized Sanitary Works Entity (EDOS) repaired a section of the main sewage trunk line on Hipólito Yrigoyen street this week, between Espino and 9 de Julio. According to testimonies from the residents themselves, issues had been occurring for 30 years.
The instability of the soil and the constant passage of vehicles on Hipólito Irigoyen street, many of them heavy-duty, caused the network to shift, and with it, part of the sewage effluent returned into homes. It was also detected that the pavement was sinking, causing further issues.
EDOS technicians classified the work as one of the most important carried out by the ENTITY in recent times, due to its significance, the risks it presented, and the entire movement of machinery and personnel required to face the challenge.
The local residents expressed their gratitude for the completion of this work because they had been suffering from this problem for around 30 years, highlighting this while observing the work performed by the municipal employees.
