The Concordia Municipal Health Secretariat is conducting check-ups through its technical teams and mobile health units for people affected by the flood who are sheltered in evacuation centers.
This was confirmed by the Secretary of Health, Mauro García, who pointed out that by decision of the mayor, Enrique Cresto, work is being carried out in the Evacuation Centers. “We are conducting surveys in all locations and have also deployed all the resources of the Secretariat,” explained García.
And he highlighted that “the Municipal Comprehensive Emergency Service - SIMES - is available for the different evacuation centers, with a nurse on hand to resolve any emergencies that may arise.”
He then stated that the Extramuros program team is performing general check-ups on the evacuated families in each center. On the other hand, the appointment systems of the Primary Health Care Centers (CAPS) closest to the evacuation centers will be available, covering those areas to provide clinical, pediatric, dental, or other services for needs that may arise.”
Furthermore, the Director of Primary Care, Ana Paula Vila, said that “as in every year that we have suffered floods, and as always, through the instructions given to us by the COES and our Mayor, we are accompanying the families who have been evacuated.”
And she added that “it is such a difficult, such a traumatic situation, which is why we are making daily rounds in each evacuation center and seeing the health needs that these families have. Accompanying, containing, and supporting with nursing, medical care, pediatricians, clinical doctors, and obstetricians.”
At the same time, she indicated that “the work methodology being carried out is as follows: evacuation occurs, centers are visited, and a general check-up is performed. An appointment is given at the nearby CAPS if there is a specific need, and if there is an emergency, SIMES goes to the location, attends to it, and resolves it. If a referral is needed, they take care of the transfer.”
Finally, it is important to highlight that in addition to the work being carried out in the evacuation centers, all areas of the Health Secretariat continue with the general schedule, and all health programs carried out by the municipality are underway, just as the Health Centers remain open during their usual hours.
