"The Costanera was packed, with families arriving early with their chairs to settle in and enjoy this unique celebration," said Sonia Albornos, describing what was experienced at the start of the 2018 edition of the Pequeños Duendes Carnival. "All the comparsas have worked very hard; today we saw 7 comparsas, and on Sunday we will see the rest in their debut," noted the Coordinator of the organization for the Concordia Carnival's youth development program.
The youngest ones took the lead and inaugurated the 2018 carnival season in Concordia. It was at the Costanera where, following the inauguration by Mayor Enrique Cresto, the Avenida de los Pueblos Originarios was filled with magic, joy, rhythm, and color. Together with his wife, Leticia Ponzinibio, Vice Mayor Armando Gay and his wife Barbara Rajzner, Cresto cheered on the passing of the children's comparsas and shared in the joy of hundreds of children from different neighborhoods of the city who had prepared for this moment for months.
Accompanying the inaugural parade of the children's carnival were the Secretary of Government and Tourism Alfredo Francolini, the President of the Carnival Entity Matias Soto, the Director of the Costanera Entity Aldo Álvarez, the Event Coordinator Matías Armanazqui, the Director of Disability Juan Manuel Franco, and council members Julia Saenz and Sebastián Cuberli, among other authorities.
"I want to highlight the joint work with all the areas of the Municipality that Mayor Enrique Cresto arranged, so that this could be a true family celebration," Albornos valued, and invited everyone to continue watching the parades through the neighborhoods, which will take place every Friday and Sunday in January and February starting this weekend. This Sunday the 21st, the second parade of the Pequeños Duendes will be on Tte. Ibáñez street, between Feliciano and Nogoyá, starting at 8:30 PM with free admission.
