Within the framework of the joint work being carried out by the Municipality of Concordia with the Government of Entre Ríos, a meeting was held this morning between the Municipal Forest Brigade, under the Secretariat of Health, and the Environmental Response Brigade (BRA), of the Provincial Secretariat of Environment, with the objective of strengthening and deepening operational actions in response to the fire risk alert.
The work was carried out at the “Comodoro Pierrestegui” Airport, where the hydrant aircraft belonging to the Federal Fire Management System remains to operate in the event of forest fires recorded during the summer season in our area, the province, or the Mesopotamia region.
“This is part of a joint strategy that prioritizes prevention, speed of intervention, and coordinated work between municipal, provincial, and national agencies,” stated Secretary of Health Diego Sauré, noting that “this operational strengthening is the result of two years of continuous cooperation with the Fire Management Plan.”
In this sense, in addition to recalling that the Municipality of Concordia is the only one to have its own Forest Brigade, Sauré emphasized the various tasks that have been carried out throughout 2025 “with the goal of being prepared in case fires are recorded in our region.”
Gustavo Gerfó, a member of the Environmental Response Brigade, underscored the “strategic importance of having a permanent supply source for aerial assets, especially in a period where fire risk indices reach extreme levels” such as those being recorded in our area and a large part of the country.
Both officials stressed the importance of deepening preventive actions and citizen responsibility, in order to avoid the generation of fire outbreaks. In this sense, they added that most fires originate from human carelessness and that community collaboration is key to reducing risks, environmental damage, and material losses.
