In the last days of this week, the execution of network connections on large-diameter pipes determined that the water plant had to stop for a large part of the day to reduce circulation to a minimum and allow for cuts in certain sectors that would enable the company to complete these tasks, which are very necessary and urgent.
Once the work was completed, both the water plant and the distribution circuits began to operate normally.
However, due to the high water consumption recorded since yesterday and throughout today, it has been impossible to fully restore optimal pressure in the urban network.
"This is mainly due to the waste of water, the constant emptying and filling of small pools and swimming pools, car washing for the weekend, and those types of attitudes that make it impossible for water to reach certain neighborhoods or the higher floors of several buildings," denounced the director of Sanitary Works, Jorge Mendieta, tonight.
"That is why we ask people to be considerate, to understand that the water some waste is the water others lack," the official stated.
"We need people to use water only for what is necessary. For personal hygiene, for Covid-19 preventive measures, for what is absolutely necessary in the home," urged the head of EDOS.
"Only if people help will we be able to properly recover the pressure and reach the places we are not reaching today," warned Mendieta.
