The Municipality of Concordia, through the Undersecretariat of Education and Culture, carried out the enhancement of the Paseo de Las Barracas, an initiative that allowed for the recovery of one of the spaces with the greatest historical identity in the city and turned it back into a meeting place for residents, families, and visitors.
The proposal was the result of joint work between different areas of the municipality, which joined efforts to recondition this sector of the Costanera and restore its prominence as a space intended for enjoyment, recreation, culture, and community life.
The day brought together residents who participated in the different activities organized to celebrate this recovery. During the afternoon, the public was able to tour the Entrepreneurs' Fair, share time with family, and enjoy a varied artistic and recreational proposal, such as the presentation of Misturando Samba y Pagode; the energy of candombe arrived courtesy of La Vía Candombe, a group that, together with Marea Tamborera, offered a show that combined music, dance, and tradition, highlighting a cultural expression deeply rooted in the region.
Within the framework of the activity, an artistic mural was also inaugurated, which is incorporated into the landscape of the Paseo de Las Barracas as a new expression of identity and cultural heritage. The work, created especially for this space, reflects the commitment to continue promoting art as a tool to strengthen the sense of belonging and resignify public spaces.
During the day, Mayor Francisco Azcué was present, who accompanied the activities and highlighted the importance of continuing to recover emblematic places in the city for the enjoyment of the entire community: “this promenade was recovered after much work and dedication from many people. It belongs to all the residents of Concordia, so we hope you can enjoy it, as a family, all together.”
As a closing to the proposal, residents participated in the Healthy Party, organized by the Undersecretariat of Sports, an initiative developed in Costa Chaval that promoted physical activity and healthy habits through an experience open to the entire community.
The Undersecretariat of Education and Culture expressed its gratitude for the commitment and joint work of the different areas of the Municipality of Concordia that made this enhancement possible, as well as the support of Costa Chaval and AC Producciones, whose contribution allowed for the enrichment of the proposal and the consolidation of a day where the joint work between the public and private sectors once again demonstrated that it is possible to generate actions with a positive impact for the community.
The Municipality of Concordia thus reaffirms its commitment to the recovery of public spaces as environments for integration, participation, and collective construction, promoting initiatives that strengthen heritage, promote culture, encourage sports practice, and consolidate a city with more opportunities for meeting and coexistence.
