It is intended for members of the municipal emergency system, which includes the CIME and the Forest Brigade, and is part of a comprehensive strategy to strengthen emergency care in the city.
This Friday, June 27th at 3:00 PM, specialized training in prehospital trauma will be held for municipal personnel. It will be conducted by Dr. Luciano Gandini, president of the Argentine Society of Prehospital Medicine (SAMPRE).
“Trauma is a disease that kills more than seven million people per year worldwide, and many of those deaths are preventable if one acts correctly in prehospital care,” explained the Secretary of Health, Dr. Diego Sauré, in statements to Radio Ciudadana.
When announcing the activity, the municipal official highlighted that “having Luciano Gandini in Concordia is a true luxury. He was the first president of SAMPRE, and together with Lucas Henkel -who was also in our city last year- they are among the top references in prehospital care in the country.”
During the training, fundamental content will be addressed to improve initial care in trauma cases, especially in the so-called “golden hour,” a key period to reduce mortality and patient sequelae. “Care begins at the scene, not at the hospital. That is the paradigm that must be changed,” remarked Sauré.
The course will be free for personnel of the municipal emergency system, which includes the CIME and the Forest Brigade, and is part of a comprehensive strategy to strengthen emergency care in the city.
In addition, during the weekend, the international PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support) course will be taught at the Hospital Masvernat Auditorium, a training endorsed by the American College of Surgeons, intended for health professionals and which will have official certification. This course has a cost and limited spots.
“We are working with commitment to continue consolidating an agile, modern, and humane emergency system, where the most valuable resource continues to be trained human resources,” concluded Sauré.
