The Air Commercial Development Entity of the Concordia Airport (EDAAC) began a series of institutional visits to the new “Comodoro J. J. Pierrestegui” air terminal with the objective that the community feels the airport as part of its local identity, understanding its operation, strategic importance for economic and tourism development, and the opportunities it generates for the region.
The first group was composed of private tourism sector providers who participated in the activity, which was coordinated by personnel from the Air Commercial Development Entity of the Concordia Airport and the Undersecretariat of Tourism of the Municipality.
Jacinto Echandía, a local gastronomy leader, stressed that the airport “is super modern, very well developed architecturally. It has great potential, especially in gastronomy, not only for passengers, but also for the local community to take advantage of it as one more tourist attraction. The idea of complementing this space with an interesting gastronomic offer, including a restaurant, is a project with a lot of potential.”
For her part, Daniela Fontaiña, representative of the Anclar Viajes y Turismo Agency, maintained that “it seems incredible to see how it is set up, it is an impressive construction. As a tourism professional, I know how fundamental an airport is for the growth of the city. This work is a great bet for tourism and for the entire region,” noting that “collaboration between the public and private sectors is essential for the success of this project.”
Felipe Domínguez, owner of Pizzería El Reloj, highlighted the importance of the work for the future of Concordia: “It is the first time I have come and the truth is that it seems spectacular to me, very well thought out and in line with the region's objective of developing in tourism. Professionalism is evident in everything, from the infrastructure to the quality of the spaces. I am convinced that this airport will greatly benefit the city. As a resident of Concordia, I commit myself to contribute what is within my reach for the growth of local tourism.”
From the Air Commercial Development Entity of the Airport, it was indicated that these visits will continue to be carried out with other sectors. “This is a work that we must all take ownership of so that connectivity, regional competitiveness, and new opportunities are generated for both the private and public sectors.”
