Governor Rogelio Frigerio inaugurated the repaving work of the South Access to Concordia, one of the main entry routes to the city from National Route 14. It is a project that was made possible after joint efforts between the province and the municipality.
The South Access is a strategic route for heavy traffic, as it concentrates a large part of the transport of production and goods in the region. Its deterioration and closure had highlighted the urgent need for intervention. With the repaving completed, accessibility to the Industrial Park has been improved, and traffic and safety conditions have been optimized for the families of El Martillo, Benito Legerén, Villa Adela, Las Tejas, and surrounding areas, in addition to favoring the productive and tourist development of Concordia.
Governor Frigerio stated that the access "is a significant place today, but it will be even more so in the future because it is the logistics and industrial hub that we are planning with Mayor Azcué. A hub that will boost the development of the private sector not only in Concordia, but in the entire Salto Grande region," he remarked.
He maintained that "it was fundamental that this access route, so important for the residents of Concordia, be cleared," and recalled that "in April we said we would have it finished in October. I think we are a little ahead of schedule. We are very happy to be able to provide a solution to a problem that had been going on for so long," he said finally by way of conclusion.
For his part, Mayor Francisco Azcué stated: "We feel very supported. That also speaks to the importance that our governor and his team give to Concordia. Every day in all areas we are working in an articulated manner with the provincial government, but yes, these works, of course, are much more visible, this one particularly long-awaited. This also demonstrates how important it is to work together, to work in an articulated manner between the municipality, the province, and the Nation," he assured.
Meanwhile, the Secretary General of the Government, Mauricio Colello, considered that "Concordia symbolizes a bit of what is happening to Entre Ríos in general, this gap that exists between what we are and what we can be. To be able to narrow that gap, planning is needed, and this work represents this to some extent," he said finally.
The project had been financed at the beginning by the National Government and developed by the province in 2022. Subsequently, based on an agreement signed in July 2024, the work was transferred to the provincial sphere, with the active participation of the municipality in the procedures and efforts necessary for its continuity.
Accompanying the governor were the Ministers of Planning, Infrastructure and Services, Darío Schneider; of Treasury and Finance, Fabián Boleas; and of Government and Labor, Manuel Troncoso. Also present were the Secretary General of the Government, Mauricio Colello, the President of the General Council of Education, Alicia Fregonese, and legislators Cielo Espejo, Marcelo López, and Nancy Ballejos.
