The Undersecretariat of Health of the Municipality of Concordia, through the Directorate of Bromatology, in its role of preserving the health of the population, recommends taking these tips into account when sanitizing the kitchen:
Kitchen surfaces that come into contact with food must be cleaned frequently (every 2 to 4 hours) to eliminate food residues that can nourish microorganisms.
Never use items used for floor cleaning (squeegees, brooms, brushes, floor cloths, etc.) to sanitize kitchen countertops or accessories.
In some cases, natural or synthetic fiber sponges may be used, but steel wool sponges should not be used, as they can detach and become a physical contaminant of food, with the risks that this implies.
Do not use dishcloths for cleaning hands, machines, utensils, countertops, etc., as they constitute the most significant risk of cross-contamination for microorganisms to move from one place to another. Instead, it is recommended to use disposable items (paper napkins).
It is advisable that cleaning and disinfection products are always kept in a special storage area, separate from that used for food or raw materials.
