Given the increase in potable water consumption recorded due to high temperatures, the Decentralized Sanitary Works Entity (EDOS) has arranged to reinforce the supervision of the network for its proper functioning, and awareness campaigns and controls have also been reinforced to avoid waste and unnecessary use of the water resource. By collaborating and taking care of the water, there is enough for everyone and we also take care of the environment.
In this regard, EDOS inspection crews are carrying out intensive control operations to detect illegal connections, unauthorized swimming pools, and leaks that may affect the normal supply, reported the head of EDOS, Jorge Mendieta. At the same time, he pointed out that work is being done intensively to solve the problems that arise in different sections or sectors of the network.
"Due to the heat wave recorded in the city over the last few days, water consumption has increased. Therefore, it is important that we all collaborate in water conservation to prevent residents in areas furthest from the water treatment plant from being affected," the agency stated. "We can all collaborate by being responsible in how we use water. This way, we protect the environment and help ensure everyone has access to the service," they highlighted.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Some useful tips that we can implement in our homes to collaborate:
- It is recommended to check for possible leaks in the faucets of our homes.
- Turn off the faucets while brushing our teeth and use a glass of water to rinse our mouths and the toothbrush.
- Shave outside the shower, using a plug and filling the sink basin with the necessary water.
- When washing fruits and vegetables, it is better to do it in a bowl. The water can be used to water plants.
- Use the washing machine only with a full load, with as little soap as possible, and on short cycles.
- The car can be washed with one or two buckets of water. If we do it with a hose, we waste nearly 300 liters.
By being conscious of the rational use of the resource, all residents of Concordia benefit.
