The Undersecretariat of Environment and the Directorate of Environmental Education presented the 2026 edition of the “Sustainable Schools Network” program with the goal that educational communities contribute to climate change mitigation and adopt responsible consumption practices.
The purpose of the program is for schools to promote sustainable actions such as recycling, composting, and tree planting, while providing them with a space to share environmental experiences and projects. Last year, more than 3000 students participated in environmental education activities.
Secretary of Public Services Alejandro López expressed his gratitude and highlighted “the importance of programs like this one, which aim at environmental awareness among school-age children,” who then take these types of practices to their homes. “We all take care of the place where we live together,” he asserted.
Undersecretary of Environment Joaquín Gobetto recalled that “this is the 11th year of the program, we are very happy that this initiative can continue, which is of local interest to all schools, betting on greater participation, both public and private, which are of course invited to be part of it”.
Héctor Rivero, head of the Department of Studies and Projects of the Undersecretary of Environment, detailed that the action will focus “on four thematic axes but open to the possibility of working with teachers. We accompany the students' formative journey and highlight that the proposal is open”.
Finally, it was highlighted that the scope of the “Sustainable Schools Network” program is not limited to the city, so schools from other localities in the Concordia department are invited to participate.
For those who wish to participate, the form is now available for registration:
