In a joint effort between the Undersecretariat of Education of the Municipality of Concordia, the Municipal Veterinary Department, and the College of Veterinary Physicians of Entre Ríos - Concordia Section, the 2025 Responsible Pet Ownership Lecture Series was presented, aimed at primary school students in the city, which will begin shortly.
This initiative seeks to raise awareness about the importance of responsible care for companion animals and promote values of respect and empathy within the school community.
The Undersecretary of Education, Prof. Carlos Gatto, highlighted the relevance of the proposal: "Educating the youngest about the responsibility involved in having a pet is sowing awareness for the future. From the Undersecretariat of Education, we believe that these talks not only teach about animal care, but also strengthen fundamental values such as respect and solidarity."
For his part, the head of the Municipal Veterinary Department, Julio Gesualdi, underscored the need to address this topic from childhood: "It is essential that children understand that pets are not toys, but beings that require attention, affection, and care. We want to provide practical tools and create a space for dialogue with students so they can ask questions and share experiences."
Schools interested in participating can register from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the offices of the Undersecretariat of Education (Avellaneda 26) or by calling 345 5205794 (Nelida Amam).
This lecture series represents one more step in building a community that respects and cares for its animals.
