The Undersecretariat of Culture of the Municipality of Concordia opens registration for the Free Jazz Workshop, a training proposal aimed at musicians, instrumentalists, and singers interested in approaching the genre from its foundations.
The workshop will be led by the renowned teacher and guitarist Alfonso Bekes, and will take place over four weekly two-hour sessions on Thursdays. Through a theoretical-practical dynamic, participants will explore conscious listening, accompaniment, phrasing, and improvisation, with the goal of creating a space for study and musical growth.
The Undersecretary of Culture, Prof. Carlos Gatto, highlighted the importance of this initiative within the public cultural policies promoted by the mayor Francisco Azcué: "From the municipal administration, we are committed to bringing quality and accessible cultural proposals to the community. This workshop is a unique opportunity for musicians in Concordia to train and develop their creativity under the guidance of a jazz reference like Alfonso Bekes. We continue to bet on an inclusive culture, with training and meeting spaces that strengthen our artistic identity,” stated Gatto.
“Jazz has an enormous richness that has influenced many other types of music, including Argentine music. The idea of this workshop is for participants to understand and experience the language of the genre, from its rhythmic and harmonic structure to improvisation,” highlighted Alfonso Bekes.
