During this Thursday, technical personnel from the Decentralized Sanitary Works Entity will carry out maintenance and risk prevention tasks on the water intake pumps operating at the San Carlos Water Treatment Plant.
This is due to the high demand on the pumps caused by the pronounced low level of the Uruguay River (which has persisted since the end of last year and, according to forecasts, will continue for the remainder of the season).
Due to these works, which will be assisted by professional divers, the normal water supply in different sectors of the city could be affected; therefore, residents are requested to take the corresponding precautions.
Likewise, the Sanitary Works department emphasizes the need to carry out these preventive tasks to avoid greater difficulties in the event that the pumps suffer breakdowns or severe malfunctions.
