During the weekend, the Municipality of Concordia carried out a comprehensive territorial approach through a strategic decentralization program of different areas with the objective that residents can access public health, educational, sports, productive, and social services.
The activity took place in the northwest area through joint work with community organizations from the San Francisco Oeste and Este, Agua Patito, 27 de Noviembre, La Roca, Nueva Esperanza, Don Jorge, Los Pájaros, Gobernador Cresto, and Constitución Oeste neighborhoods.
“This approach stems from the idea of bringing the Municipality and its various areas closer to the northwest zone of the city, which is one of the most remote. We believe this direct contact is important, which is why we carry it out during the weekend so that they can come, participate, and interact with officials,” stated the mayor Francisco Azcué.
In addition to the approach, Azcué indicated that every week, together with the Municipal Cabinet, they have been holding meetings in different neighborhoods where residents can raise their concerns or proposals: “We build the city together, each one fulfilling their responsibilities,” he affirmed.
MORE THAN 20 AREAS
Secretary of Health Diego Sauré maintained that “we have the participation of 22 areas of the Municipality. This serves so that people can come and consult, receive answers regarding a procedure, or complete their vaccination through close and direct contact.”
“From issues that may be common or normal, triggers arise for other areas, and that is the idea of the approach. We will continue doing it, choosing strategic locations, working in coordination with institutions, as in this case the Nueva Vida church, which provided us with the space,” Sauré announced.
RESULTS
During the day and through the Secretariat of Health, 210 medical consultations were performed without the need for referrals; 208 vaccines were administered, many of them allowing for the completion or updating of the national vaccination schedule. In addition, 40 HIV and syphilis tests were conducted, 10 consultations for contraception were held, and 100 prescription medications were delivered.
The Directorate of Traffic and Transportation assisted around 200 residents who came to carry out procedures for updating and extending SUBE card benefits.
For its part, the Municipal Veterinary Directorate performed 30 free castrations and 100 rabies vaccines were administered to pets.
Different areas of the Secretariats of Health, Human Development, Government, Public Services, and Productive Development participated, as well as the Decentralized Entity of Sanitary Works and the Deliberative Council.
