The vice mayor announced that, for the first time, student projects will be submitted to a vote by all citizens.
With the goal of fostering civic participation among new generations, the program was launched this Monday Youth Deliberative Council 2025 under the slogan "Your voice counts". The event, held in the Municipal Assembly Hall, was attended by local authorities, council members, and representatives of the educational community.
The launch was led by the vice mayor Lic. Magdalena Reta de Urquiza, accompanied by the mayor Dr. Francisco Azcué, the Departmental Director of Schools, Prof. José L. Ferrari, the Undersecretary of Culture and Education, Prof. Carlos Gatto, and council member Prof. Silvina Ovelar.
AN EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE WITH REAL IMPACT
Vice Mayor Reta de Urquiza explained that the program is aimed at the last three years of secondary schools in Concordia. She stressed that the main objective is for young people to identify city problems, develop solution proposals, and present them in an ordinance format.
"This legislative technique that they will develop in their own schools is what ultimately generates learning about how the democratic system works," remarked Reta de Urquiza, valuing the program as an invaluable experience that teaches how to visualize problems, work in teams, draft proposals, and present them orally.
INNOVATION: CITIZEN VOTING FOR YOUTH PROJECTS
The great novelty of this edition is the incorporation of a citizen participation system. In collaboration with the Strategic Projects area of the municipality, the young people's projects will be displayed on the official website to be submitted to a vote by all citizens.
"They will be able to be voted on not only by the rest of the students at the school, but also by the people in the neighborhood where you might be addressing a problem, as well as by citizens of Concordia in general," explained the vice mayor. The most voted projects will be entered into the city's Deliberative Council for consideration, which reinforces the real impact of the youth proposals.
CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES
The program will take place over the coming months, with the following schedule:

Pablo Bovino, Dr. Guillermo Satalía Mendez, Yaiza Pessolani, municipal officials, and the educational community of Secondary School No. 44, NEA, and Borges, among others, which underscores the scope and relevance of this project for the development of future generations of leaders and citizens.
