This is a joint effort between the Municipality and the Concordia Departmental Police Headquarters. A permanent guard post will be set up at the site, “which will improve security in this neighborhood, which is very important to us,” stated Mayor Azcué.
On Wednesday morning, Mayor Francisco Azcué and the Concordia Departmental Police Chief, Commissioner José María Rosatelli, carried out a series of activities related to the joint work being carried out by the Municipality and the provincial force.
One of the places visited was a property located at Las Heras street and Pasaje Aguilera, which was used for criminal activities and, following its recovery, will be allocated for Police use.
In this regard, Azcué recalled that during his time at the local Prosecutor's Office and Commissioner Rosatelli's time as head of Criminalistics, they carried out an investigation related to the fight against drug trafficking. “Several raids were carried out, and in this specific place, there was a drug bunker that, following the progress of the administrative case file, was seized.”
After highlighting the joint work being carried out with the Provincial Government, he maintained that “together with the Minister of Security and Justice, Néstor Roncaglia, we continue to carry out actions, as in this case, allocating a space to be used as a workshop by the Police.”
After conditioning the property and moving the vehicles for repairs, the Mayor announced that a permanent guard post will be set up, “which will improve security in this neighborhood, which is very important to us.”
For his part, the Departmental Police Chief highlighted this step, as they currently do not have their own place to carry out the work that the department's units need.
“The truth is that this warehouse was an icon of drug trafficking in the city, and as the Mayor explained, it was seized and now, thanks to joint work between the Municipality and the Headquarters, the necessary improvements are being made so that it can begin operating shortly,” remarked Rosatelli.
SAPPER FIREFIGHTERS
Wednesday's tour also included the Sapper Firefighters Section. There, the objective is to recover a disused fire truck. “It was in Federación and Commissioner Rosatelli made the arrangements to bring it to Concordia. It will be destined for the airport,” announced Mayor Azcué.
In addition, the Municipality and the Departmental Headquarters will seek to recover a trailer, convert it into a mobile unit, and then allocate it to different procedures. “It will depend on the special group; all the security cameras will be there and it will be connected via the internet to the 911 cameras,” reported Rosatelli.
This action will allow that “every time we have an operation, in any part of the city, we can move, allowing the personnel on-site to have control of the entire area,” he concluded.
