It is boxing night at the Municipal Gymnasium. This Friday, starting at 9:30 PM, it will be time to witness 7 fights, where in the main event of the day, Concordia native Yanina “La Panterita” Lescano (29 years old) will be presented, who will face Rosario native Marisa Portillo (36 years old), who comes with every intention of causing an upset in our city.
Yesterday was the weigh-in for both contenders, where the local fighter weighed in at 62.600 kg, while her opponent weighed 63.500 kg, falling within the Super Lightweight category. The bout will consist of 6 rounds of 3x1.
The Rosario native fought last January in the United States, falling to Stevie Morgan, thus adding a new international appearance. The Concordia native has the same experience, as we recall she once fought for the world title in Liverpool in April 2024, falling to Beatriz Ferreira. Despite having barely fought since that time, Lescano has been training hard and arrives in very good shape for this bout, thinking of a victory and having important doors open for her once again. For this, obviously, she will count on the support of the entire local public, which will surely fill the Municipal Gymnasium.
Regarding organization, on Thursday night everything was ready at the venue and only details remained to be polished for people to begin entering this Friday when the doors open. Although advance tickets have been sold at a good pace, there are still some left to be sold until noon this Friday for 5000 pesos at Kiosco “La Mona”; Balcarce 11, although at night, at the Gymnasium box office, they will cost 6 thousand pesos. There will be 6 amateur fights and the aforementioned professional one that will make up this attractive evening, where many young people will step into the ring to show their skills and defend their different neighborhoods, also with the support and encouragement of the boxing community.
Another night of pure success is expected, of course, with the return of “La Panterita” Lescano to the local ring.
