Participatory Councils

Over the last four years, the Municipality of Concordia has been implementing a profound process of citizen participation in local management. Thus, links have been established with different State agencies, universities, NGOs, and intermediate civil society institutions, reflecting this relationship in different programs and policies promoted by the Municipal Executive.

The experience of the "Social Emergency Council" formed in December 2015 to address the problems generated by the historic flood that occurred then; the deepening of the Participatory Budget Program that has been consolidated at the neighborhood level, extending to other areas such as Youth, Senior Citizens, and Disability; the government decentralization process that began in Villa Zorraquín; or the creation of the Unified Urban and Territorial Planning Code, prepared by the Associations of Architects, Engineers, Master Builders, and Universities, and approved unanimously by the Honorable Deliberative Council; are some of these experiences that solidify an open and participatory management model.

In this context, the Municipal Executive has institutionally consolidated four areas of direct participation, with projects sent to the Honorable Deliberative Council and approved unanimously at the time.

  • Concordia Citizen Security Council
  • Municipal Production Council
  • Municipal Council for the Prevention and Assistance of Problematic Consumption and Addictive Behaviors
  • Council for the Prevention of Gender-Based Violence

These are bodies that operate within the scope of the Municipality of Concordia, with the active participation of institutions and representatives from each specific field, in the planning and development of public policies carried out in the city.
